As Director of Product you will play a pivotal role in our mission to revolutionise the experience of retail associates worldwide, by intelligently connecting teams, customers and services through best-in-class voice technology. You will have a proven track record in leading innovation, spearheading and guiding product vision and strategy, and will be comfortable ensuring that VoCoVo's product processes, technology and talent align with our commitment to quality, innovation and reliability.
In the role of Director of Product you will provide clear leadership and vision. You will inspire and motivate staff to achieve excellence and mentor them to develop new skills. You will oversee our end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation to launch (and beyond), including market research to identify emerging trends, customer preferences, the competitive landscape and will define features whilst maintaining a clear road map.
Please note, to apply for this position you must be based in the UK and have the legal right to work in the UK. This role is a hybrid working position with approximately 1 day per week at either our Shipton-Under-Wychwood or Cheltenham offices.
Requirements for Director of Product
- Strong Product Management skills, with extensive experience in a Product Management leadership role.
- A proven track record of developing and executing commercially viable product strategies and successfully managing and launching products that drive business growth, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Experience in leading and mentoring a team of product professionals.
- Exposure to both Software and Hardware centric product environments and an understanding of the product nuances when working across both Software and Hardware.
- The ability to work effectively with commercial teams and senior management as well as cross-functional teams including design, user research and engineering.
- Demonstrable experience setting and delivering OKRs and KPIs.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, comfortable presenting to the wider team and senior executives.
- An excelled understanding of product management tools and processes, including proficiency in agile methodologies, product lifecycle management, market research techniques and data analysis.
- A deep understanding of market trends, customer needs and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
- Strong strategic thinking and commercial skills including financial principles and metrics, to ensure the product strategy drives business growth.
- Experience of building and managing high-performing product management teams.
- Familiarity with user experience research, processes and best practices.
- Prior experience of working in a scale up organisation together with global expansion plans.
Responsibilities as Director of Product
- Own and execute VoCoVo's product vision balancing both customer and business needs, which should emphasise strategic product leadership and alignment with the company's overall vision and goals.
- Work with the Executives and the Leadership team, defining, clarifying and reviewing key product objectives as we improve our exiting product and launch in new areas.
- Develop and maintain a strategic vision for the product portfolio, ensuring alignment with the company's overall business strategy.
- Oversee the product planning process by collaborating with cross-functional teams, prioritising features, defining requirements and creating the product roadmap for the entire product development lifecycle.
- Own the consolidated product roadmap for key projects through a deep understanding of our space, key problems, customer needs and robust prioritisation. Whilst ensuring it meets market demands and supports the company's long-term goals across geographies.
- Help solve complex business problems, bring people together and deliver user-friendly products that meet customer needs.
- Establish critical and key client relationships, be the voice of the customer and embed strong customer research practices within our product delivery teams.
- Coach and lead a team of Product Managers, Product Owners, UX and R&D to deliver high-quality products in line with product roadmaps whilst fostering collaboration with engineering, sales, marketing, customer service and other departments.
- Collaborate with engineering and commercial team leadership to develop product roadmaps and offerings that align with broader business objectives, pipelines and OKRs.
- Work in close collaboration with the product marketing, development and sales teams to develop go to market strategies, positioning, messaging and pricing.
- Responsibility of product suite ROI and strategic delivery.
- Bring transparency and alignment across the organisation regarding product priorities and progress.
- Monitoring the market landscape, conducting competitor analysis and staying updated on industry trends to ensure the product remains competitive while addressing customer needs.
- Play a key role in defining divisional product strategy and ensuring that all products meet the company's high standards for quality and user experience.
- Ensure our product meets key regulatory, compliance, data and security requirements.
Desirable Domain Experience
- Experience within the Retail (Grocery, DIY, Hardware) market.
- Telecommunications, Radio Technology or Voice Technologies.
- Experience working with IoT hardware together with Cloud enabled software services.
Salary
Salary: £120,000
