Role Overview
As our People Operations Manager, you’ll help make sure our people foundations are strong, scalable and human as we grow in the UK and internationally.
You’ll take clear ownership of people operations, systems and data, ensuring they’re robust, compliant and ready to scale, using insight and thoughtful improvements to support every stage of the employee journey.
This is a hands-on role where collaboration matters, combining operational delivery with future-focused thinking to help our people and our business thrive. You’ll work closely with the Chief People Officer and wider People team, supporting continuity and momentum.
Please note, this role is open to candidates based in the UK with the legal right to work here. It’s a hybrid position, so you’ll need to be commutable to our Cheltenham (Gloucestershire) and Shipton-under-Wychwood (Oxfordshire) offices, spending around 1–2 days a week working from them.
What we're looking for
A strong track record managing people operations in a scaling organisation (around 200–500 employees)
Strong hands-on knowledge of HRIS, payroll and people data (HiBob experience is a plus)
Comfortable using data to inform decisions and improve employee experience
Highly organised with a great eye for detail and process improvement
Solid understanding of UK employment law and best practice
Commercially aware, with experience managing budgets and suppliers
A clear, approachable communicator who enjoys being visible and collaborative
Someone who balances accuracy with pace and understands the bigger picture
Values-led, proactive and solutions focused
Nice to have: exposure to DACH or US employment law, Employer of Record models, internal communications
What you'll do
Own and continuously improve people operations across the full employee lifecycle
Help deliver a consistent, high-quality employee experience that reflects VoCoVo’s values
Own our HRIS, ensuring data accuracy, integrity and usability
Build and maintain people dashboards that support performance and informed decision-making
Use insight to identify trends and opportunities, sharing them openly with the People team and leaders
Design scalable people processes that support growth and simplicity
Lead people operations projects focused on automation and continuous improvement
Manage the HR operations budget and supplier renewals
Support compliance across the UK, DACH and US, keeping us audit-ready
Partner with managers and teams to support change and key people moments
Support the People team with continuity and operational leadership when needed
Salary
Salary range: £60,000 - £75,000 per year.
