Role Overview
At VoCoVo, we're on a mission to help retailers communicate better, operate more efficiently and deliver exceptional experiences for their customers. As part of that commitment, we're delivering a major global initiative to upgrade thousands of customer systems to the latest software and firmware standards.
We're looking for a Deployment Consultant to join us on a 6-month fixed-term contract and play a key role in the successful delivery of this programme.
Working as part of our Delivery team, you'll be responsible for remotely deploying software upgrades across our global customer estate during planned maintenance windows. Using established deployment plans and tools, you'll monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure upgrades are completed smoothly and successfully.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced technical environment, solving problems, and making a visible impact. No two weeks will look exactly the same, with deployments taking place across a variety of customer environments and technologies.
You'll receive full training on VoCoVo's products, systems and deployment processes, and will work closely with teams across Technical Care, Product and Delivery to help ensure our customers continue to benefit from the latest features, improvements and security updates.
If you're someone who thrives on ownership, enjoys troubleshooting technical challenges, and takes pride in delivering great outcomes for customers, we'd love to hear from you.
What we're looking for
Experience working with Linux systems and a good understanding of networking fundamentals, including connectivity troubleshooting.
Comfortable following technical documentation, deployment plans and established processes with a high level of accuracy.
A methodical approach to problem solving, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and confidently escalate when required.
Excellent written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail when documenting work, reporting exceptions and providing clear shift handovers.
Highly organised and reliable, with the ability to manage your workload independently and consistently deliver high-quality work.
Comfortable working autonomously during evening shifts, with minimal day-to-day supervision.
Adaptable and able to work across changing deployment schedules, customer environments and business priorities.
Experience in a technical support, operations or deployment-focused role would be advantageous.
Exposure to remote device management, software deployments or firmware upgrades would be beneficial.
Familiarity with retail technology environments or large-scale multi-site estates would be a plus.
Basic scripting experience (Bash or Python) would be advantageous but is not essential.
Available to work UK evening shifts (9pm to 5am GMT).
What you'll do
Deliver remote software and firmware upgrades across VoCoVo's global customer estate, helping ensure customers benefit from the latest features, improvements and security updates.
Execute planned deployments during agreed customer maintenance windows, following established deployment plans and processes.
Monitor upgrade activity in real time, validating system health and connectivity to ensure successful outcomes for our customers.
Investigate and resolve deployment issues where possible, following agreed escalation paths and working closely with the wider team when additional support is needed.
Maintain accurate records of deployment activity, providing clear updates, exception reporting and shift handovers to support operational continuity.
Identify and communicate technical risks, recurring issues or opportunities for improvement to help enhance future deployments.
Play a key role in delivering a business-critical global upgrade programme while minimising disruption to customer operations.
Complete a comprehensive onboarding and training programme, giving you the tools, knowledge and support needed to succeed in the role from day one.
